You need to have an average IQ score and 2 standard deviations difference. This student has a score at 102 (WJR), and the full-scale is 82(IQ), so that is where your difference is. My question is what is considered the Average IQ score on the test he was given... its normally 85 and up. The numerical difference for eligibility is NOT standard from system to system. My district uses 15 points (1 SD) where the next county over uses 22.5 (1.5 SD) and still others use 30 (2 SD). In the above sample the student is acheiving ~20 points HIGHER than the IQ would indicate on at least some of the subsets and ~5 points lower in others. In this county this student would not be LD (although the ADD would give the student an OHI). This looks like a case of eligibility cooking. Margy
