I am looking at a Kelty Vortex 4 to take my kids backpacking.  Anyone have experience with this tent?  Backpacker magazine rated it 3.5/5, but they commented on a leaky fly.  Anyone else get wet in this tent?                                                 Thanks!                                                         Gene

Thanks! Gene I have 2, which I purchased for both family camping and boy scout trips. I've had them for several years now, and think they are GREAT tents.  I have no complaints.  It is stable in winds (when well staked out), weatherproof, the vestibules are very roomy, and the double doors are very convenient. I am looking at a Kelty Vortex 4 to take my kids backpacking. Great tent...it was the lightest 4-man backpacking tent that I could find for under $400.  It sets up quickly, stands up well in the wind and snow if staked out good, and has a generous amount of room.  It is lightweight for a 4-man tent, but kind of bulky.  Shop around and you might get it on sale, like I did.  Good luck.
