Help!  I'm already on level 43, and I have yet to see a cartoon.  I haven't used any of the cheat keys.  When am I supposed to see the cartoons?  Any suggestions? -Irene

I was up in the 90's when I read the manual and saw that I was missing something. I swear I didn't cheat either, but I must of hit a menu wrong somewhere. My advice, start over, it won't take you anytime at all. -Mike-

Guess what?  I downloaded a patch from Compuserve (Lode Runner version 1.3), restarted the game, and I got all the cartoons (at least after level 15).  I don't know if you Have to start over, though, but if you do, starting over after you've gotten to level 90 is sure a bummer.

I think you can see the animations from previous levels if you start from the beginning and skip forward through the levels using the skip ahead key.  The manual says something about being penalized for cheating, but I don't remember what; I do remember when I was playing with the cheat feature that I saw some of the between-level animations. So maybe you don't have to actually replay them all to see the animations. And if you could, post the patch to some FTP site and let us know about it! Try closing all other programs and windows before playing. I've seen cases where on a 8 MB system, the 'cartoons' don't appear occasionally. Good luck. I've finished all 150 levels. :*) . -
