Does anyone know of a suitable program under $100.00?   How about free?  You could use Microsoft's Photo Story 3 for Windows , then encode that to DVD compliant MPEG.  (Search for the download at the MS website.)   I've heard good things about the slideshow that MoTV creates; http://www.codejam.com/  ($50) but there may be a problem with the results using video clips.   You can add and/or join the slideshow(s) while encoding them in an encoder ( in case you have to make the slideshow in more than one batch, to get your 400+ .)   Once you have your slideshow(s) as DVD compliant MPEG, you can add them together with your video clips in your DVD Authoring Program. Luck;     Ken         Thanks, I am familiar with PhotoStory 3 and have used it a lot but this is the first time that I have used video clips in my slideshows and PhotoStory 3 will only accept 300 photo's. I will have a look at the MoTV offering. I'm not sure how to join the slideshows seamlessly if I have to split into more than one but I am sure that I will be able to handle it with a bit of experimentation. I am currently using Intervideo Win DVD 2 for authoring.

And the Pro version I use falls within  your price limit. I don't believe there is a program limit on number of slides. Ken's reference to a possible problem with video clips probably stems from me. I had exasperating problems on one particular project a few weeks ago, in which I was using about 40 stills and 30 AVI movie clips. But in fairness it hasn't re-occurred on several projects since then, so I'm hoping for a long run of good behaviour... MoTV is an integrated program that could take you right through from input to finished and burned DVD. That's how I've used it in the past. But I'm learning that there may be circumstances when I would instead want to use it for working exclusively with the *stills*, for transitions, captions, pan/zoom, etc. Then output to MPG, and use other programs such as Womble MPEG Wizard, VideoRedo, Movie Maker, etc) to add in and edit my increasing video clip content. And yet another program ('authoring') program' to make my final DVD. I'm just tackling the first of my projects in that fashion. My input is about 70% video clips and 30% slides. I've made an MPG from the stills in MoTV, another MPG from the video clips in Womble MPEG Wizard, and am now considering my options. One factor that may be important to you (as it is to me) is the performance of different programs when handling pan/zooms. All my family DVDs to date have used panning and/or zooming on my JPG stills. Sometimes several on one slide, such as for a group photo. Not all programs do such a good job of this as MoTV.
