True. And as serious as it is, the fact is that more men die with it, than from it.  In many cases, a man may have it for years and not have any real problems with it.  However, this is not the case all the time. The PSA test is notorious for false positive readings.  It has proven to be no more accurate than the digital exam, abeit more comfortable. I don't know about the reliability but it worked on me and several other people I know.  The digital exam had not indicated any problem at all even after I proved positive.  I will say this I recommend to any male to at least have a _base_ line to work from which means have one done that will give the doctor something to work by if you get higher readings later.  That said each of us will have to make their decision as do our women folk and the only blame will be on the person who does not get the checkups.  I have a BIL who has not been to the doctors in years and is 65.  God only knows if he has any problems and he will not go.  He knows how it worked in my case but refuses to get examined for anything. Sorry to bother you again, but..... Onan NHE Emerald Spec E  6.5 (387 hours) After reading every thing you have written regarding Onan (some 255 posts), I have come to the conclusion that I have excessive carbon in the heads. Beyond pinging. It's knocking a little. Louder with load. C3 didn't reduce it. From reading of your posts, it probably needs to be taken apart and manually removed. So.... Two questions: 1: What should I expect to pay for that procedure? 2: What happens if I ignore it? Thanks to you, otherwise it runs like a top. Thanks, Tom I would also check out where you can buy a complete new gen set so you can estimate if what they think it will cost will be worth it. http://www.goldrv.co.uk/e_generators.htm I say again I have been proclaimed to not know what I am talking about by the other folks that know every thing here.

Hi Lee, He can't go to a civilian hospital )c:  No insurance. We hope he'll be okay too. I have 4 friends battling this right now...that I know of. Seems 8 out of 10 men will get it if they live long enough. Hi Hunter I will then assume that he is not en_title_d to Tri Care for Life for veterans who served their 20 years or were discharged for medical reasons.  One of the problems for a lot of not eligible for Tri Care for Life insurance is they use the Veterans Hospital as their primary care and don't get Hospital insurance etc.  I have a couple of friends who have done that and then when they needed the insurance it was not there and they had to depend on the VA.  One of them died also because he did not want to go to be examined when early signs hit him. We went to the trouble of buying Long Term Care Insurance so we would not be an liability to anyone also.  Expensive yes, but necessary. While I would rather have the money I am glad I have it.  At a cost of over 40K per year for nursing home care and expensive home care the 3k it cost me per year does not look all that bad.  If nothing is needed I am out the money but if something does happen I will be covered (hopefully) Lee We, too, have LTC. We could probably party on the $$ it costs, but I believe that John Hancock will still be meeting its obligations when we might need it.  I know that the US Government does not and has not since FDR and ilk. It hasn't got any better.   I often believe that the terrorists really screwed up when they hit the Trade Center.  That pissed off most Americans and other in the world.  Now if they had hit both houses of Congress and wiped out those lying congress critters, most Americans would have loved them. George

I've got to admit that I was impressed with an article in the newspaper in Halifax on the health care system up there. Seems like the waiting list for a hip replacement was 15 months. But it's universal & free!  We have a huge debate going on right now because some of the provinces support a private health care model and some oppose it.  Health care is supposedly a provincial responsibility so it should end there BUT ... the fed doles out transfer payments to the provinces _base_d on some provincial commitment to equal access to medical care across the country.  The ***t is about to hit the fan because our new federal gummit's power _base_ is in Alberta and Alberta supports a private healthcare model. And 15 months is short in Canuck-months. R.J.(Bob) Evans (return address needs alteration to work)
