Can anyone recommend and discuss the pros and cons of different types of buffers to be used with polymer clays. I have seen some folks recommend dremels, what is that, and what other options are there? What about price? Many thanks. I like my bench grinder from Home Depot. We replaced one of the wheels with a 6-inch diameter cotton muslin wheel. It was about $40 for the bench grinder, and another couple of bucks for the cotton wheel. I'm one of the few people who doesn't like the Dremel tool. I have a heavy hand, and I gouged the clay when I tried to buff with the tiny Dremel wheel. I can never post about buffing wheels without mentioning safety! Wear eye protection! Wear a mask to avoid breathing the cotton fibers! Put a mask on your husband, your children, your cat, too, or just buff in the garage or on the porch so they don't breathe the fibers either. Buff on the *underside* of the wheel so when a piece gets snatched out of your hand, it flies *away* from you. And make sure it won't fly into anything/anyone important. Off the safety soapbox, and good luck with a buffer. You'll love the results. Irene in western NC remove first x to email me
