My mom insists I like strawberries because she didn't get a chance to eat them right before I was born. I've had FOFs for which this has worked both ways. One woman was born at the peak of strawberry season; her mother gobbled strawberries during her waning days of pregnancy, and her daughter now loves them. Another woman's mother ate bell peppers like apples. The woman despises bell peppers.

My current MildPeeve: My appetite is starting to grow exponentially and when people hear how much I eat, Wow! It must be a boy! Why can't it be a hungry girl? Is *that* a wives' tale that anyone has heard? That more hunger = boy? Marcia. 3/28/97
