For instance, Pre-Paid Legal customers supposedly can have Unlimited phone consultations ... pick up the phone and talk with you[r attorney] about any legal matters, personal or business....  In FACT, Pre-Paid Legal limits those calls to ONE CALL PER LEGAL MATTER.  So if you have an on-going dispute with your neighbor, or repeated harassment by bill collectors, or have a continuing problem at your work, tough luck: you've used up your one phone call. Pre-Paid Legal won't tell you that many non-PPL attorneys will provide totally free (no monthly fee) in-person initial consultations.  Why pay a monthly fee for ONE call by phone, when you can get in-person consultations for free? The website says the company is adored by Wall Street.   Then why is the stock down 50% from its high in 1998?  (Stock symbol PPD.) Nor will the website tell you that all these wonderful attorneys have secretly agreed in writing with Pre-Paid Legal to NOT represent folks (who are supposedly their clients) in the event the client has a dispute with Pre-Paid Legal.  So these attorneys have an unethical divided loyalty. Nor will the website tell you that the free will that Pre-Paid Legal uses to lure in customers may prevent customers from establishing trusts which could have saved those customers probate fees, and saved or delayed substantial amounts of estate taxes. The poster claims annual retention for NEW customers is a whopping 76% ... no 'fudging' on those numbers.  Even assuming the truth of that statement, that DOESN'T COUNT those old customers who hang in there for a few months and THEN drop out.  What do they call an old customer?  Four months?  Ten?  Thirteen?
