This isn't really an Opera issue, but an IE and authoring issue, and I was wondering if anybody else had bumped into it. This works fine in Opera and it seems to me it should be valid CSS, though I could be wrong, and before I go rearranging things I'd like to verify that it is indeed an IE bug. On my website I have a set of standard _style_sheets in a _style_ subdirectory (and a subdirectory in that one for different color schemes). I've organized different sections of the website into subdirectories with subdirectories of their own and so on, and in each subdirectory there's a file called local.css, which is used by pages in that subdirectory. That local.css file either imports one of the standard _style_sheets *or* (and this is where things break!) imports the local.css of its parent directory. So after you go down a few levels in the heirarchy, you're often importing a file that imports a file that imports a file... Here's the problem: It appears that IE 5.5 can't handle a chain of more than three imports. One or two or three is okay, but any more and the _style_s are ignored. Has anybody esle seen this? Or is it just some silly IE config that I'm missing? - Bill

I don't have an answer to your problem but I would like to ask you some questions. How do you import a css-file from within another css-file? Is the used command a part of CSS1 och CSS2? I've searched the web for an answer without any luck. TIA /Jocke

I've searched the web for an answer without any luck. You may need some training in how to use Google then A simple search for the keywords 'CSS' and 'import' gives some 33000+ pages in response, just about any entry on the first response page would have started you off.
