Can someone please tell me how to record an mpeg or avi file to a 8mm analog camcorder or a VCR?  Obviously, I know nothing about this kind of thing so any help is appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Can someone please tell me how to record an mpeg or avi file to a 8mm analog camcorder or a VCR? Do you have a videocard with TV-out? If not, you'll need to buy one. Afterwards, just play the video file on your PC while recording on the VCR. It'll record in real-time.

For mpeg files only, you can get a Hollywood+ mpeg card, they can be found for around $30-40. For any type of video file, your best solution is a graphics card that has a TV out feature.  By far the best is Matrox G450 or G550, cost $100-130, but they are not fast for 3D gaming if that is important.  I have measured the performance of my ATI AIW 8500Dv and MY nVidia Ti 4200 and my Matrox G450 for TV out picture quality.  The Matrox is excellent and the other 2 are good to poor (ATI).  The Matrox will play full screen on the TV out when DVD Max is selected, and then you just connect the video out and sound from your sound card to your recorder and just record.
