i would also like to here about anything of interest.  The more realalistic the better.  Nuclear war is somthing that somone should really to into simulating as a game.  If anyone knows anything about computer game that simulate it then be sure and speak up.  Harpoon, and Civ don't count. There was an old  C64 game called NATO Command, it was a strategic wargame set in Europe. You had a choice of weapons, also nuclear and chemical (there was a political side to the issue). A game of similar design would be fun on the ol'PC RH53

I read an article about a board wargame (this was many years ago), concerning world war 3.  It said that if you wanted to simulate going nuclear, then you should pour lighter fluid over the table and set light to it.  You try that with your computer! I don't think that any simulation is going to work very well.  What's there to do afterwards?

Afterwards the game is over and you play again.  The GAME part is before that.  You plan and build stuff so you can win.  Do you build missiles, bombers, subs, defenses, etc.? The game could have to time scales.  Before the war each turn would be 1 year.  After war starts, the turns could change to become 1 minute of time where you would be giving orders to units, and choosing targets.

I don't think that any simulation is going to work very well.  What's there to do afterwards? Well, according to those prophetic sages in Hollywood, we'll all start wearing leather, move to Australia, and join post-apocalyptic biker gangs!  =-) Seriously, I posted a similar comment a few days ago.  Simulations of a nuclear war end as soon as the last nuke hits...how do you declare victory when you've doomed humanity?  This is the ultimate Phyrrhic victory, no?   [As a footnote, I *do* remember a post-apocalyptic strategy game being published some years back(circa 86-87) which allowed you to try and survive and prosper following a nuclear war.  I never got around to playing...the subject matter sounded a bit too depressing for me in those Cold War years...]
