Here's an article on a new law that requires airlines to pay up to $800 for involuntary bumps. http://tinyurl.com/5hdsej Somehow I think that will trickle down to higher ticket prices, but I also don't see any great efforts to improve the situation. Rich Airlines aren't destabilized because of fares, it's because of incredible fuel prices, incredible add on taxes and fees, union occupation of airports and generally horrible mismanagement. Let them fail. As a slightly related [and slightly vulgar] comment on the quality of life in this country, I point you to this short post [3 paragraphs] on one of my favorite blogs: Tamara K, Anus niveus, stupor mundi. http://booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com/2008/04/anus-niveus-stupor-m... [Certainly a subject *I* hadn't heard about before, either!] I don't think I'll ever look at a bottle of bleach the same way again lol. What I'm trying to wrap my brain around is the progression... how does something like this find it's way into one's monthly planner... Pickup groceries, renew car insurance, pay mortgage, clean garage, make bleaching appointment... Best regards,

NewsGuy.Com I'm stumped. Besides fitting that in your schedule, I'm still trying to figure how that went from a concept to a reality and the marketing research involved. How do you advertise something like that? Isn't that the process they are currently subjecting Rev Wright to these days with his PR tour?

We *have* succeeded in taking care of food, shelter, and safety, regardless of the price of gas, airline tickets, or even your favorite breakfast cereal. These are very minor problems compared to arguing with a lion or grizzly bear over who gets to eat that deer. Unfortunately, that regardless of price is a major problem. It's called priorities . For a change, for awhile, we *might* actually have to concentrate again on food, shelter, and safety , and stop concentrating on ipods, big-screen TVs, new cars because the old one is three years old and needs tires, and flying to Florida to see what is going on with Walt Disney's legacy. Etc., etc., etc. The consumer generation needs to learn what we old timers already know. Costco seems to be very in tune with the consumer generation... as you walk into the store's entrance you're greeted by 60 flat screen tv's, a wide assortment of digital cameras, and several cases of jewelry... and have to walk past all of those goodies before getting to a meat or produce department. It's actually kind of fun seeing the contents of shopping carts when everyone diverges on the check-out stands. We pulled up with diapers, bottled water, toothpaste, bananas, etc... and the gentlemen next to us rolled up with a large plasma tv, several cans of chili & a 12-pack of Coke. We may have addressed our priorities, but he was going to have one heckuva weekend lol. Best regards,

NewsGuy.Com All you need is a special on L-Z-Boys and you're all set. I think the order goes chili then Coke, then park yourself in front of the plasma tv until you can move again. Rich Coincidentally enough Costco is running a special on LZ Boy recliners! In the event that Estrella loses me at Costco, she can usually find me in one of three areas... TVs, computers or recliners. I've lobbied management to consolidate all of those items into one area, but haven't had much luck so far. Best regards,
