We *have* succeeded in taking care of food, shelter, and safety, regardless of the price of gas, airline tickets, or even your favorite breakfast cereal. These are very minor problems compared to arguing with a lion or grizzly bear over who gets to eat that deer. Unfortunately, that regardless of price is a major problem. It's called priorities . For a change, for awhile, we *might* actually have to concentrate again on food, shelter, and safety , and stop concentrating on ipods, big-screen TVs, new cars because the old one is three years old and needs tires, and flying to Florida to see what is going on with Walt Disney's legacy. Etc., etc., etc. The consumer generation needs to learn what we old timers already know. Costco seems to be very in tune with the consumer generation... as you walk into the store's entrance you're greeted by 60 flat screen tv's, a wide assortment of digital cameras, and several cases of jewelry... and have to walk past all of those goodies before getting to a meat or produce department. It's actually kind of fun seeing the contents of shopping carts when everyone diverges on the check-out stands. We pulled up with diapers, bottled water, toothpaste, bananas, etc... and the gentlemen next to us rolled up with a large plasma tv, several cans of chili & a 12-pack of Coke. We may have addressed our priorities, but he was going to have one heckuva weekend lol. One weekend versus a lifetime of joy . . . some choice! It all worked out in the end! lol We took Isabella to a music-in-the-park event that weekend, and it was great fun. She walked around waving & blowing kisses to everyone, and would stop to dance (bounce) when a particular song caught her interest. I really think actors and directors with less to work with just had more talent. Additionally, only a couple of % held star status compared to now where anyone on mainstream public airwaves is a celebrity.
