28' WS cos they look too small to me :c) Will do Craig. Have you considered looking on eBay? Some very good bargains to be had on there, 4:3 TV's go for good prices as everybody seems to want widescreen - but I agree that watching anything 4:3 ratio on a 28 widescreen is a little small for me.

£5 - £10! I'd be amazed if you got anything substantial enough for less than several £10s. If you are prepared to make something up, good luck. I'm good at DIY as well, and could easlity do a similar brakets, but it would take too long, and I'd probably lie awake every night listening for a crash. I just wouldn't risk it. And then there's the question of insurance. Even if it's covered All Risks, I reckon they'd use your DIY bracket as a get out should it fall off the wall. If you've got the money for a plasma, just do the job properly for the sake of saving a few quid. Chris

and I'd probably lie awake every night listening for a crash. I just wouldn't risk it. That's exactly what I was thinking.... I found a unicol one for £150 inc, which should be delivered tomorrow. I'm getting my new hi-fi cabinet on wednesday to move all the dvd/amp/sky/ps2/etc in to, and the screen should arrive on Thursday. So, if all goes well, by Friday I will be a very happy man But knowing my luck, the bracket will be for the wrong screen, the hifi cabinet will be too small, and the plasma will be faulty! Russ.

I had the UNICOL black desk stand for 4 weeks as they didn't have the Panasonic pedestal in stock. (200 for the UNICOL two part and 170 for the Panasonic). The UNICOL was very heavy duty but looked VERY secure and UGLY. The Panasonic is much prettier, smaller and makes me feel incensed again that the pedestal does not come with the screen in the first place (at no cost). It's just a piece of moulded aluminium. I *did* have the Panasonic wall bracket on order too, but after 2 months have cancelled and decided to make do with the desktop. I wouldn't trust myself to put the bracket up as you need to be sure you've found the support beams behind the wall, and used heavy duty wall bolts. That's got to add yet another 100 to the cost. Then there's hiding the wires in the wall - .....

Then there's hiding the wires in the wall - ..... The wall I'm fitting to is an external wall, so I'll just be using very long thick screws (the type you use to fit door _frame_s / windows) and going about 10 inches in to masonry. No need to hunt for beams. Hiding the cables - hmmmm, initially I'll just dangle them and probably conceal in a tube. If I don't like that, then it's a simple case of stanley knife through the wallpaper, peel carefully (cut along the stripe pattern so it's not too obvious). Carefully chisel a couple of inches deep, glue the cables in place, bit of polly filla/plaster, then stick the wall paper back over. I'm sure I'll be able to do a pretty decent job, for more like £5-£10. No way £100!!! Other option is to drill straight through the wall, and feed the cables outside, then drill again lower down and feed them back in. Anything that's external, cover with some decent conduit. Again, maybe £5. The bracket is due to arrive tomorrow sometime , and the plasma is being delivered between 4pm-5pm tomorrow. I've booked the day off work, so let's hope the bracket arrives fairly early so I can spend the day getting that fitted, then when the plasma arrives it's a simple case of unwrap, slot in place, plug in. (Yeah, Right!!!!) Russ.

(Yeah, Right!!!!) Russ. Just in case you've overlooked something here so you won't be disappointed on the day - they are bloody heavy and you WILL need a hand to lift it and mount it. You have no chance of doing it alone. I struggled getting mine just on to a pedestal stand at waist height by myself. Also, some dealers warn about laying screens flat. They aren't designed and stressed for it and there's a possibility some of the plasma pockets could rupture. Something I only found out after I'd had mine laying flat on my sofa for half a day while I sorted stuff out. No damage done anyway. MJ
