I need to install a new tub surround around my bath tub.  What are the pro and cons of using the more expensive fiberglass vs the cheaper plastic model?  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have installed fiberglass surrounds and one plastic  shower tray .The shower tray was the only one that would work in the customers budget and I was not happy with how thin the material was.  Even considering the cost difference I wouldn't dream of putting in any more plastic. The finish on fiberglass is great looking. Also if something happens to the surround it can be repair to new condision.The big cost is labor and even if it's DIY your labor is worth spending on a job you'll want to show off.  I'm seeing kitchen sinks in fiberglass they have a nicer loking finish than cast iron.
