tempurpedic queen size Adjustable bed for chronic back pain...Please help with suggestions...

Hello everyone: I have to buy a bed for my grandmother who has had chronic back pain, to the point that she doesn't do much but walk up & down the hall, or sit and sleep in bed. After hours online, I am confused as to which one...they are so expensive too! I read a posting from long ago about how the mattress on the craftmatics are the cheapest foam, and that the craftmatic company is being sued, etc. Does anyone have suggestions or information as to where I can find out about which adjustable beds are good quality? There seems to be 2 components: the adjustable electric _frame_ & then the mattress...I tried consumer reports, but no luck. Thanks for any info.

Dear Lj, Just a suggestion, but you may want to check in to medical supplies for a bed as opposed to just regular bedding, particularly if your grandma spends most of her time there. I got one of those select comfort adjustables where you can adjust the firmness, but that might not be adequate for her. We saved about a thousand bucks buying it from QVC rather than one of their stores. There was a post a couple of months ago from a person who purchased a bed from a company called Dux or Duxania, something like that, who had major problems with the product as well as the service. I never heard of them but the way he wrote it was supposed to be something specifically for back problems so you may want to avoid them. My in-laws have a Craftmatic and so far so good, but neither of them have any health problems to take in to consideration. One good thing about the Select Comfort and the Craftmatic is they give you a test drive period so if it's not cutting it you can return it. At least that way she can see if it meets her needs before being committed to purchase. Best of luck with your search
