Janers - check out Sun Protective Clothing - they're a Canadian company - they have hand covers that are very comfortable. last joint of fingers is exposed (distal) but other than that they're very cool and work quite well (I kept getting little blistering rashes on my hands when driving on sunny days). I've grown so accustomed to all my solumbra stuff that when I go without it (say it's raining and cloudy) it feels very strange - nekked.

Solumbra has similar gloves but they're a little more expensive and they are more just shields (held on by narrow elastic bands which didn't look comfortable to me - but you might prefer them as they do keep the palms open to the air. Solumbras are about $25 US - with S&H I don't know how much that is. Sun Protective Clothing (I can dig up their website if you like) sells theres for $10 US but then S&H is 9 so... slightly cheaper. The also sell a sheet of their fabric (very large sheet) for about $16 I think... no hemming but if you're just going to throw it over your lap/legs than that's no big deal. I got that for our trip to NM so I could have just a little added protection. *********************************** KCat - I am not a medical professional.
