I'm interested in your opinions on indoor electric grills (George Foreman, etc.). It would be used for cooking primarily vegetables and sandwiches and perhaps the odd chicken breast or sausage (no steaks). It can be relatively small (for one person). While it need not be dishwasher-safe, easy to clean would be nice. Does the grill let off a _lot_ of smoke? (don't want to set off the fire alarm) Does it cook evenly, completely? Do you have any particular reccommendations (budget: about US$30) thank you

You aren't going to get that outdoor grilled flavor, but they do cook effectively and completely. I didn't notice excessive smoke. The grease drains out and the surface is non-stick so it is relatively easy to clean. I would go for it. Let me say Hi to a fellow Buckeye.

Do you have any particular reccommendations (budget: about US$30) I have the small George Foreman grill and have had it for about 2 years. I use it for salmon as well as the occasional hamburger mainly, sometimes a chicken breast. It doesn't fill the kitchen with smoke, it doesn't heat up the kitchen, it does cook completely and very fast. It's fast enough so that I have used it for cooking when I have to feed 3 people even tho it means I have to cook half the fish/meat and then cook the other half. I do a reasonably thick salmon filet in about 6 minutes

I do have a Le Creuset ridged pan that seems to work well, and I've also considered just getting a reversible griddle/grill tray for the stovetop. Any comparative experience?
