Leius actually worked well in his platoon role. The STATS folks having him hitting at .271 which I can believe. He'll have low SLG and average OBP, but I can live with this if he continues to field OK. The bigger worry is Pags who is about to take the mother of all dives unless he has truely found the gospel according to Crow. Hm.  Leius had a .600 OPS in AAA in 1990.  Maybe he can pull a .700 OPS in the Dome (like STATS predicts), but that's hardly great for a platoon p_layer_.

Show me someone better in the Twins farm club or someone the Twins can get at a better price (no I don't mean Carney Lansford) and I'll write a letter to Uncle Andy and tell him to pull the deal. In the mean time, I'll take it over Steve The Man, The Myth, The Legend Buechele until something better comes along.

I've noticed quite a bit of talk on the Twins rotation this year... Most of this talk has involved Denny Neagle.  Neagle is far from the ONLY choice.. Mahomes may be ready as well, although he only pitched 55 innings at AAA last year, he hurled 171 overall last year allowing only 127 hits and striking out 177. Tom Edens might have a chance as well, hurling 161 innings last year         allowing only 145 hits, walked only 62 and struck out 100. Here's a little comparison of Mahomes, Neagle, Edens, Banks, and Trombley as they did last year (Banks stats are for minor league only) NAME            ERA   IP   H    BB  SO

Trombley will get called up if he's needed. I think Trombley spends the season in Portland unless the Twins become desperate. He's a good pitcher and he's actually older than Mahomes, but he seems to remain just a prospect to the Twins and not quite ready yet. With the other pitchers who have seen more time at AAA-MLB, I think he will be about fifth on the list unless he puts up the sort of numbers Mahomes had at Orlando.

Then it'll be Mahomes, Neagle, and Guthrie. Nah. Sadly, the Twins spent money on Krueger and they're going to use him. I don't know if Such believes it, but Krueger's 3.60 ERA from last year is going to get him a prime spot in the rotation. Depends on spring training. Krueger?  That's sad.  Nuff said. BTW - I *HATE* the Twins.    I'm too much of a Tiger fan to like the Twins.
