Arghh! I just got my Scoresheet _base_ball draft in the mail (you send the rankings, they send the draft) and I ended up with just about nothing for pitching. (Just Jimmy Key, Tom Gordon and Gregg Olson, although I did get Griffey, Gonzalez, Puckett and Ricky Henderson in OF) So I've got to resort to the Scott Sanderson's and Ron Darlings of the world to hold off the opposition and hopefully let my wonderous offense take over. Anyways.. I need help trying to figure out the status of several p_layer_s. This is the kind of information that gets printed in local newspapers (don't want to research every Thang to get the info) and local media so please bear with me. Anyways, 1) Which of these guys figure to make starting rotations and how sure are you that they will be able to pitch some Innings : a) Mike Gardiner b) Brian Holman (healthy?) c) Brian Hesketh d) Cal Eldred (will he make the Brewers as a starter?) e) Greg Harris (starter or relief for BoSox?) f) Mark Leiter (starter or relief for Detroit?) g) Pascual Perez (healthy? How healthy?) h) Bruce Ruffin (starter for Brew Crew?) i) Bill Krueger (where the hell is he?) j) Mark Gubicza (healthy enough to pitch 200 innings? Finished?) k) Mike Magnante (for real?) l) Calvin Jones (more innings after the SF trade? ) m) Terry Mathews (will he be effective again?) n) Rich Garces (will he make the Twins?) o) Denny Neagle (will he make the Twins rotation?) p) Mike Schooler (will he be effective again following surgery?) q) Roger Salkeld (will he be on the Mariners staff, if so as a starter?) 2) Assorted Questions a) Is Luis Rivera or Naehring supposed to be the BoSox starter at SS? b) Amaral, the starting SS for Mariners over Vizquel? c) Leius platoon with Pags again for Twins? d) Keith Miller or Terry Shumpert at 2B for the Royals? e) Mark Lewis, Jim Thome which one gets playing time for Cleveland? How much? f) Who is better, the Beatles, Elvis Presley, Eric Lindros or Brian Mulroney? g) Why is the sky blue? h) Is a train is leaving Memphis with 13 passengers at 30 mph and a train leaves New York.... Oops my mind seems to wander. I realize that many of these questions probably haven't been decided yet, but I just want to know what's going on. Right now I want to get some pitchers who eat innings (you know the Mike Boddicker, Kirk McCaskill type) without hurting me TOO bad. I'd like to get guys like Alex Fernandez who have a chance of being good. I really want to draft Cal Eldred, any opinions? (I need him to be good AND rack in the IP.) Thanks a tonne (or ton in the U.S.A.) Gord Niguma (fav p_layer_ : Roberto Alomar)
