Now when did Darwin advise just any damm thing???? He didn't of course. He simply made statements about the survival of the fittest amongst species, and racists applied that to society with their own vicious spin on it. Denis

He simply made statements about the survival of the fittest amongst species, and racists applied that to society with their own vicious spin on it. It pisses me off that one of my intellectual heros - not only a fine thinker, but a bloody nice man - is used as a eugenic apologist by the grunting neanderthal.

Realistically, Darwin was a product of his times. He did make racist statements in Voyage of the Beagle. But he tempered them with his own humane analysis. I don't think you can take his statements out of the context of the world he lived in
