I half expected to see patents for things like The Gunk that Gets All Over Your Chain Just After You've Installed It.  Maybe that's still pending. On an extremely unrelated note, there are at least four patents for Nuclear Fusion Reactor.  Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Environmental Institute of Michigan, and Dubble Whammy, Inc are some of the entities holding them.
