did dan marino ever start in a pro bowl MNF insights

Good game. Miami stepped it up for this one, and a dormant offense came to life, as the damn stubborn JJ finally let Dan have a shot at winning a game. And it almost worked. Miami was one play maker away from winning the contest, IMO. Marino is stuck with one decent WR in OJ and a powder puff running game with Jabbar. If Miami had one other decent option to go to, I think it would have been the difference. As it was, Miami was in this thing to the end. Jax's pass D looks very suspect at this point. Yea, they are 5-0, but the cracks are beginning to show. I actually rooted for Jax to a point. I had them in my girls office pool and we had only missed 2 games this week (this pool doesn't use the spread). We missed out on the pot because the over all score was higher than I thought. I figured it would be Jax 28, Miami 13. (41 point total). The guy we were tied with had 45 as total points, so we lost out on $60! Who would have thunk that Miami offense would have it's way with Jax supposed awesome D? Coming into the game, Miami was the NFL's worst O. Cripes, the no name Jet D completely corralled this team. Their O really only scored 7 points on PGH's D, and they were on the field all day long. Either Miami has suddenly got better or Jax is still a wispy D. Even with the return of Brakens, did you see how much time Dan had most of the night? Boy, if only he had some WRs what he would have done. But he didn't have them, and Jax won. Brunell played a great game for most of the night, but did throw a bad int. Who here can tell me Jax isn not a better team with Taylor in and Stewart out? And the sad thing is TC didn't have the sense to use FT unless Stewart went down. JS could never have made that 77 yard TD, it just wouldn't be possible. If FT stays healthy, he brings a whole other option D's must try to contain, and that opens up the WRs even more. Another case of Jax lucking out. If JS was healthy, Coughlin would still have him as the starter, and they would be less of a potent team. Tom must go by the credence of it's better to be lucky than smart. How about when Copeland dropped that pass that would have been a 1st down that Marino laid right into his hands? Miami does have WR problems, and it's a sin that JJ allowed this happen when you have Marino throwing the ball. And for all JJ's focus on the running game, did you see the stat MNF had on the years before JJ got there? They had identical rushing yards a game and avg. per rush that JJ has currently attained. That's a telling stat. Did you see Brakens lead with his helmet on that hit on Marino? Assdreass, shouldn't he be banned from the game now? All your crowing about enforcing those kind of hits should cause you to want Brakens banned from the game forever. Right, or are we going down the path of the land of hypocrisy again? How about when Boomer said everyone - and then said *almost* everyone - thought Jax was the super bowl team? Does he do this for a living? How many fans and media people don't think Denver is far superior to Jax? Is it just me or were some of Jax cheerleaders kind of so-so? Perhaps the small market has less stunning beauties. I mean they didn't compare to other NFL cheerleaders IMO. PGH doesn't even have them, they feel that's not hard core enough football. As long as Rooneys own the team, no frilly pom pom stuff in PGH. What QB is better than Brunell right now? I'd say some are as good, but no one is really better. Even Favre throws ints as MB did. I'm admitting it right here: As of now, no one is playing *better* than Brunell except maybe Kordell Stewart. Hollis stinks. Is there something in those two words some one doesn't understand? You wait, if Jax does nothing about this Jax will lose in the playoffs from a missed FG. I bet you it happens. Even though PGH lost this week and Jax won, can anyone else feel these two teams are on a collision course to being neck and neck again. As Brent admitted in the PGH NG, he noticed that PGH is beginning to jell and will have to be reckoned with by Jax. As we saw on MNF Jax has plenty of weaknesses of their own. As Kordell continues to improve, I think he will be able to dissect that loose Jax secondary if they put 8 man in the box to stop the rush again. I think Jax is good, but if you let that 5-0 mark blind you to reality, don't come crying to me when reality hits. As MNF noted, their margin of winning is the lowest among the undefeated teams. A W is a W, but some cracks are showing. And during the course of a season, those cracks get exposed. Once again, for the unbelievable 4th out of 6 games, Jax gets to play a team without their starting QB up in Buffalo. I doubt any one keeps stats on it, but do you think any team has been lucky enough to play 4 out of 6 teams missing their starting QB? PGH has BLT, who will come out fighting hard I believe. I would have been nice for Jax to go down last night, and Marino was driving for the tying score with 1:30 left before he was stripped. But, it didn't happen. But I must say, what I saw this week encourages me about PGH's chances once again. Enjoy the 5-0, it won't be long before you have to except some weaknesses pretty soon. With so many of you fans predicting 16-0, I still say that's not going to happen. KC said it this year, GB said it last year, and now the 16-0 talk is starting to come out of Jax. Once that happens, toast ville.

Special teams is also a problem right now for field goals and return coverage (Mike Hollis?) And the Jaguars still can't get a pass rush going until the end of the game. These are the things that Coughlin will be working on over the next few weeks, I'm sure. BTW - stop with the 16-0, cman. You're the only one banging that drum.

Once that happens, toast ville. For the record, you are the only one who has said anything about the Jags going 16-0. In fact you admitteed it was just a troll to see how many Jags fans would concur. Nice try, but childishly transparent, as usual.
