Yeah I had an 84,  I can safely say it was the worst car I have ever owned, it may have just been a bad year, I think it may have been the first year they were fuel injected,  I sold it with around 80,000 miles, I think everything on the car was replaced or needed replaced, including the sagging doors the god awful paint and the convertible top It was carbureted. They got FI in 86. I have heard of the convertibles getting flexy, and one of the things to look for on them is the seam at the rocker and the door. That original generation was never designed to be a convertible, but everyone jumped on the bandwagon when Chrylser released the K-Car convertible and re-ignited a long dormant market. Sorry you had a bad experience. I'm not saying the cars are refined or elegant, but they have a sort of partner in crime attitude that makes me love them. Take care, Tim
