Wal-Mart sells something in the toy department called the Tyco Magna Doodle ,  works great as an underwater slate. Might be worth a look if you're shopping for equip.

dive shop will help you out. Walmart will look at  you with a confused stare. Besides would you want some guy who doesn't know a scuba tank from a propane tank filling yours ? The big marts have driven all the small stores out of business. If this happens to dive shops where do you get your tanks filled. However shop around the dive shops, some are MUCH higher than others. I dont mind paying more to support a local dealer, but I'm not gonna hand him my entire wallet either! I don't think you would be looking for a PART for a wet suit at Wal-Mart.  If you had a complaint, I think you'd have no trouble with money back there.  I've had all kinds of trouble at one or two dive shops with stuff that had problems.  OTOH, I've had very good experiences at most shops.  So, it is up to the individual to decide, right?

Walmart sucks, try getting a part for something you buy there. Your local dive shop will help you out. Walmart will look at  you with a confused stare. Wetsuits have parts? (grinning, because I partially agree with your statement.)  It seems that most of the Walmart employees have that same kind of smile and stare.)

While wal-mart sucks mantra are common these days, let me offer another viewpoint.  Having traveled  to SE Asia and Japan a lot recently, I was struck by the limited selection of most things and the amateurish manner in which retailing takes place.  Wal-mart has something like 28,000 sku line items available everyday at low prices, (yes a great deal of there stuff is cheap crap!) but a wide selection and deep inventory of colors models and the like.   In other words,.........  we Americans be spoiled rotten!

My local dive shop wet suit came with patching material, just in-case anything ripped.  Did yours? No Fishie, mine came with a money back guarantee from Walmart
